How long does countertop installation typically take?

Most standard residential countertop installations are completed within 3 to 6 hours. The total time depends on the size of the kitchen, the number of slabs, and the complexity of the cutouts (like undermount sinks or cooktops). We strive to minimize disruption and usually have your kitchen back in service as soon as possible.

Can damaged stone countertops be repaired instead of replaced?

Yes, in many cases. Minor chips, cracks, or surface scratches can often be restored by a professional. Repairing the stone is a cost-effective way to extend the life of your investment without the need for a full, expensive replacement.

What types of repairs can be done on stone countertops?

Common repairs include filling chips (especially along edges and sink rims) with color-matched epoxy, repairing separated seams, buffing out light surface scratches, and resealing natural stone to restore its luster and protection.

Do you offer countertop removal and reinstallation?

Yes. We offer a full-service experience that includes the professional removal and disposal of your old countertops. If you are keeping your existing stone but updating your cabinetry, we also provide professional "lift and reset" services to safely reinstall your stone.

Can existing countertops be reused in a new kitchen layout?

It is possible, but it depends on the new layout and the condition of the stone. While stone is very durable, it is also heavy and rigid, making it susceptible to cracking during removal. If the stone can be safely removed and the new layout allows for smaller or similar dimensions, we can often modify it to fit.

What is refabrication and when is it a good option?

Refabrication is the process of taking an existing piece of stone and recutting or repolishing it for a new purpose. This is an excellent, eco-friendly option for homeowners who want to repurpose high-quality stone from a kitchen into a bathroom vanity, laundry room, or fireplace hearth.

How do I maintain and protect my stone countertops after installation?

For natural stone (granite, marble, quartzite), we recommend periodic sealing and daily cleaning with pH-neutral soap and water. For engineered stone (quartz, Dekton), no sealing is required—simply wipe with mild soap. Regardless of the material, always use cutting boards to protect the finish and trivets for hot pots to avoid thermal shock.
